About my art:

My paintings are intuitive semi-abstract works filled with color, inspired by organic and natural forms which explore different ways of seeing the world and finding natural beauty. 

My work is semi-abstract with many deep, bright, blended colors. You will see organic shapes and lines created with watercolor or oil paints. Through movement and layers of ambiguous color juxtaposed with crisp lines, I explore the world around me. You may see different things in my work depending on who you are- landforms, animals, microscopic organisms, or just shapes and lines. I hope that you feel peace and beauty. 

I choose watercolor paints because they help me connect with the immediacy and intuitive qualities I am looking for in my work. With watercolors, I can’t remain tight and planned, and I have to let go of some control of the flow and direction of the paint. Other times, I choose oil paints because they help me achieve the layered, glowing, rich, complex color that I crave. Painting flows naturally for me, and expresses something honest and genuine about myself that I can’t put into words. I love abstraction because I want people to have their own interpretations of my work. Above all, I hope my work brings some joy, peace, and beauty to your life, as the process of creating it does for me.
